WELCOME TO VERONA TRAVEL Softball - SPRING 2023

CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to the Verona Travel Softball Spring 2023 Team (and if you choose the Summer 2023 team). We know many of you have worked hard to get to this point and efforts are appreciated. Please expect a follow up from your coach with more details.

VBSL will need you to accept your invitation and reserve your roster spot with the team by registering through LeagueApps by November 20th.

FEES

Travel Season Fees are $275 (payment plans available). VBSL town travel players are required to play Recreation Softball as well which is $200. (Payment plans available) The VBSL fees will need to be received by the entire roster prior to VBSL paying the team�??�?�¢??s travel league fees due in February.

WINTER TRAINING

Please be aware that travel coaches may be setting up team winter training sessions at local facilities. We anticipate an additional cost of $100-350 per player depending on the level of winter training the team chooses. VBSL is not involved in winter training; it�??�?�¢??s up to the coach and team.

PRACTICES and GAMES

For the Spring season, Players will participate in a 10- 12 game season comprising of practice and games beginning in March (weather permitted). Field time on Fridays and Sundays has been exclusively reserved for Travel teams. Monday through Thursday and Saturday are dedicated to Rec Softball activities; travel players are expected to participate in Rec activities. Travel Team practices are set for Friday and games on Sunday. For Spring season, Rec Baseball and Softball has always and continues to be the priority over Travel Softball activities.

UNIFORMS

For Uniforms, The uniform can be ordered through VBSL�??�?�¢??s gear site as a complete package or just order the hat and the shirt. It traditionally has taken several months to get the customized shirts; so the gear site will be open shortly. The entire uniform package is around $200. Matching team uniform is a requirement of the travel league.

EQUIPMENT

Players are expected to have their own equipment such as a glove, bat, and Softball bag. A team-shared catcher�??�?�¢??s gear can be provided for the team at the coach�??�?�¢??s request.

SUMMER TEAM

As previously indicated, VBSL is moving away from Summer tryouts for several reason but mainly the short turnaround between Spring season to Summer season. This means your player has the option to play Summer if they choose to. Also, player could defer their Spring roster spot and only play Summer. If we have a Summer tryout it will be to form a second team or to replace a roster spots where needed.
